Atlantic Heights Guest House – Great accommodation in St Ives!

Atlantic Heights Guest House – Great accommodation in St Ives!

My accommodation in the UK was quite simple.

During this trip I stayed in four different places, had two bookings cancelled, spent a few nights at a friend’s house and then returned to London where I stayed again in the same hotel I used the year before.

But today’s article is about St Ives and the wonderful place where I stayed while exploring Cornwall.

I spent three nights at Atlantic Heights Guesthouse, and I can honestly say it was well worth the money.

Location – Close to Everything in St Ives

Before booking Atlantic Heights I was considering another place located a few kilometers outside the town.

What convinced me to choose Atlantic Heights was simple:

location.

After driving many kilometers every day across Cornwall I really didn’t feel like getting back into the car just to grab dinner or a beer in the evening.

I wanted a place that was: close to the beach, close to the harbor, close to the town center.

Atlantic Heights delivered all of these things perfectly.

First Impressions

My first impression was actually a bit funny.

From the outside the guesthouse looks like a typical house in St Ives.

Nothing spectacular.

Just a small house with a small parking area.

But once inside, everything changes.

The Room

My room was big.

Not huge, but comfortably large, and the bed was extremely comfortable.

After walking more than 20 kilometers every day, carrying a camera backpack and tripod, I truly appreciated that bed.

The room was also spotlessly clean, which immediately gave the place another big plus.

The temperature inside was perfect and during most nights I actually slept with the window slightly open.

Bathroom and Amenities

The bathroom was small but perfectly functional and just as clean as the room.

Fresh towels were provided every day along with toiletries.

Everything was simple, clean and comfortable.

Exactly what you need after long days exploring Cornwall.

The Hosts

The hosts are actually the owners of the house, and they were wonderful.

Always smiling, polite and helpful, they made the entire stay feel very welcoming.

It was always a pleasure chatting with them in the morning before starting another day of exploring Cornwall.

Breakfast

Breakfast deserves a special mention.

Each evening until about 19:00–19:30 you could choose your breakfast for the next morning from a small menu and specify the time you would come down.

I chose the English breakfast both mornings, and honestly it was one of the best breakfasts I had during the entire trip.

Breakfast is optional and paid separately, but I highly recommend trying it at least once.

Parking in St Ives

Parking space in St Ives is limited.

Because of this you are asked to leave your car keys in the room while you are out exploring the town.

This allows the owners to move cars if someone needs to leave.

But honestly, once you arrive in St Ives you will not need your car.

The best way to explore the town is simply walking everywhere.

Final Thoughts

Overall my stay at Atlantic Heights Guesthouse was excellent.

It is simple, comfortable and perfectly located for exploring St Ives and the surrounding Cornwall area.

I am very happy I chose this place and I would gladly stay here again.

If you are looking for a comfortable guesthouse close to the beach and the town center, Atlantic Heights is definitely worth considering.

Pros

Great hosts, Large comfortable room, Very clean, Fresh towels and toiletries, Parking available, Close to beach, harbor and town center, Excellent breakfast.
