Old Sailor Restaurant in Nessebar – A Great Dining Experience

In the midst of the ongoing pandemic in 2021, travel opportunities were somewhat limited. However, we seized the chance to explore the enchanting Bulgarian seaside, a destination we had long wanted to visit. Today, I will focus on the Old Sailor Restaurant, a gem we discovered during our trips to Nessebar in 2020 and Sunny Beach in 2021.

Location and Ambiance

Nestled in the heart of Old Town Nessebar, the Old Sailor Restaurant boasts a charming location. While driving in Nessebar is restricted, a short walk through the picturesque streets from the nearby parking lot rewards you with the restaurant’s warm ambiance. What sets this place apart is the post-dining experience—a leisurely stroll to the sea or a relaxing moment on the beach.

Having dined here on three occasions, the staff left a lasting positive impression. They were pleasant, helpful, and discreet, contributing to the overall enjoyable atmosphere.

Conclusion

Old Sailor Restaurant is a great dining choice, offering generous portions of tasty food at an affordable price. Whether you enjoy the sea breeze after your meal or explore the diverse menu, this is a must-try if you find yourself in the area.

2023 Update

We visited the restaurant two more times during a short weekend break in Nessebar and, although the location moved about 60 meters, the mussels were just as good.
Still a place we can recommend and one I would gladly return to just for the mussels!

2025 update

We found ourselves again in Nessebar for a few days and ate here again. Nothing has changed and this is the best thing possible. The mussels are just as good, the fish soup the same and I honestly hope that when we return to enjoy this place once again.
